My name is Johanna Acosta and I am the Founder & CEO of JJA Consulting, LLC., I received my BA in Accounting with a minor in Economics from Queens College.
I wasn't always a numbers girl, in fact I started my college journey studying early childhood education (I loved working with sassy small children and in fact still do) Yet, somehow I found myself working for a Tax Accounting firm in Midtown NYC right after high school. I can honestly say, that's where I fell in love with Tax Accounting. I worked right under a CPA for 8 years learning the ins and outs of the tax world, the good, the bad, and the ugly. In 2012, I decided to do a career change and I am currently the accountant of an architectural/electrical company, handling all of their small business needs. From generating contracts and being the project manager on multi-million dollar job sites to accounts payable/ accounts receivables/, annual & quarterly Federal & State payroll returns, processing weekly employee payroll along with generating yearly W-2's/W-3's, monthly bookkeeping with year-end P&L review and the list goes on.

Although I have never stopped processing individual returns, I found myself wanting to increase my workload in the tax field. For the past two years, I have been working with Turbo Tax Seasonal, processing over 200 individual and small business tax returns.
I now think it's time to venture out on my own and take on the tax world full time!
